Subaru has finally released detailed pictures of its range-topping new Impreza WRX STI which debuts at the Tokyo Motor Show tomorrow, October 24. This follows the recent release of a moody studio shot which gave very little away apart from highlighting the turbocharged car's substantially wider body.While the five-door body st

a, the WRX STI design is much more aggressive, with a powerful design language that emphasizes its performance credentials. The model not only sports shortened front and rear overhangs, but also a longer wheelbase. And the new WRX STI also features large protruding wheelarches for a ground-hugging stance.
Beneath the hood is a new horizontally opposed 2-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine providing power to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission mated to Subaru's Symmetrical AWD system.
