Ferrari FXX Evolution

Heralded as being the most advanced GT ever created by Ferrari, the FXX has been updated with an evolution package aimed at further improving its handling and performance. The package, developed as a result of Ferrari's collaboration with its Client Test Drivers and Michael Schumacher, sports a new livery, new rear wing profiles and other modifications to hone its aerodynamics, running gear and electronics.

Though the car is not homologated for road use, Maranello's engineers developed a kit which will cut the FXX's Fiorano lap time to under 1'16'' (previously it was 1'18''). The FXX's 6262cc V12 engine can now punch out a massive 860hp at 9500rpm. Engineers also developed new aerodynamic solutions to increase downforce over the rear axle, adding a new rear diffuser, nolder and rear flaps to increase aerodynamic efficiency by 25 percent overall. The active front spoiler control system settings have also been adjusted to take these modifications into account.

The FXX evolution package includes participation in a series of track events that Ferrari is organizing at international circuits for 2008/2009. Six events - two in North America, two in Europe and two in Asia - will be planned each year, in addition to the prestigious end-of-season Ferrari World Finals.
