Cadillac SRX

GM's Cadillac division will debut its mid-size luxury crossover, the all-new 2010 SRX, at the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) next week. Cadillac claims that the new SRX's styling advances the brand's ‘art and science design to create a crossover for style-conscious customers'.

The new SRX carries over almost the all of the main design themes - including the proportion, stance and the dramatic diving bodyside surfaces - of the Provoq concept previewed a year ago at the same show. The only notable changes to the design are conceptual details such as the side mirrors, popup door handles, fog lamps, plug-in connector and ventilating grille, which have been revised for production. It measures 4833mm in length, has a width of 1910mm, stands 1668mm tall and has a 2807mm wheelbase.

Unlike the Provoq, which sourced power from a fuel cell, two types of gasoline engines will be available in the SRX: a 2.8-liter DOHC turbocharged V6 generating 260bhp and a 3.0-liter DOHC direct-injection V6 producing 300hp.
