Jaguar C-XF -Bond 22's new car?

Aston Martin may not be supplying James Bond's new car in the film due to Ford selling the company in March 2007. Ford has a three-film deal that began with 2002's Die Another Day. Jaguar is speculated to be a replacement with the new Jaguar C-XF design.

Thousands of lowrider fans checked out tricked-out cars, trucks and motorcycles at the lowrider tour in Phoenix on Sunday.

Hundreds of sparkling cars, including Impalas, Buick Regals and Cadillacs adorned with leather and metals and covered with Chicano art were on display at the Arizona Exposition and State Fair Park.

The event started with a car and truck hop. Dave Marquez's jade Impala drew cheers from the crowd as it popped up 78 inches in the front."

The market for Lamborghini Gallardo coupes in Saskatchewan is not big, but auto enthusiasts attending Auto Show Saskatchewan 2007 in April will be able to ogle at least one of the V-10 powered rockets priced at more than $175,000 US.
Contemplating a 520-horsepower sports car might take their mind off more pertinent matters, such as the continuing war for pickup truck dominance in the province.
The Saskatchewan Automobile Dealers' Association (SADA) announced almost every room in the sprawling Saskatoon Prairieland Park trade centre will be filled on April 20-22 with manufacturer displays of new cars and trucks sold in Saskatchewan and a few, such as the Lamborghini and Lotus sports cars, that don't have any dealer representation here."

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. -- Extensive snow cover in Central New York has only heightened anticipation for arrival of the Motorsports Expo '07, March 9-11, presented by the staff at Gater Racing Photo News at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

A number of DIRT Big-Block Modified drivers are scheduled to be in attendance for the 21st Annual Exposition & Trade Show headed by Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series stars Steve Paine, Gary Tomkins, Matt Sheppard, Jimmy Phelps, Dale Planck and recently crowned Florida DIRTcar Nationals Champion Danny Johnson. The cars driven by Phelps, H&H Motorsports no. 98, 2006 Mr. DIRT Pro Stock Champion Pete Stefanski, Sunrise Racing no. 2 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and DIRTcar Street Stock contender Nick Rizzo (#115) will be among the race vehicles on display throughout the weekend at the centrally located DIRT MotorSports information booth.

Raceway Alley will be a big part of this year's Performance World Custom Car and Truck Show and for those of us tired of looking at snow, a few hours at the International Centre next weekend may be just the ticket.

Along with race cars from several disciplines, most local tracks will have booths to visit and find out what's in store for the upcoming season.

The speedways of Peterborough, Ohsweken, Sunset and Flamboro will be at the show, which runs March 9-11 at 6900 Airport Rd. in Mississauga. Grand Prix Kartways will be on hand, as well at Mosport and the OSCAAR Super Late Models.

For straight-line fans, Grand Bend, Toronto Motorsports Park and St. Thomas will be taking part in the three-day event.

The show is scheduled to run March 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and March 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The iconic Batmobile from the cult 1960s show Batman has been sold for £120000 at auction in London.

The Lincoln Futura was designed in 1955 by a division of the Ford Motor Company. It was built entirely by hand in Italy, and the concept car cost £127,000 to make but never made it into production.

US car customiser George Barris apparently bought the car from the manufacturers for just 51p. Then when producers from the Batman show approached him for a futuristic vehicle, it became the Batmobile.

The Batmobile featured in a collection of some of the world's finest cars for sale at auction house Coys – as well as a Reliant Regal from Only Fools And Horses, that fetched £44,000.

The Dearborn Deuce

Walk into the back room of Oakley Ind. (Clinton Twp., MI), past the die work being done for major OEM programs, and you'll see something unusual: new Kirksite dies developed from CAD data supplied by ASC (Southgate, MI) for a 1932 Ford convertible. But not just any '32 Ford drop top. This one has been redesigned and reengineered to accept a disappearing cloth top, curved side glass, power windows, larger doors, and more interior space within the footprint of the original. Unlike that car, the "Dearborn Deuce™," as the new '32 is called, started with a white-light scan of an original car, and moved to the CAD screen for modification. There the body was made symmetric–something the original definitely wasn't–the "tulip" panel between the decklid and interior was shortened and made functional so it could be used as a cover over the folding convertible top, the doors were lengthened to ease ingress and egress, the lines were subtly reshaped and sharpened, structural braces designed to radically reduce cowl shake were added, the A-pillar was changed to accept roll-up windows and modern weather seals, and the H-point lowered.

The Dearborn Deuce™ started as a hand-built make-work project for ASC’s crafts team, but morphed into a math-based, stamped and welded, low-volume production program.
"The Dearborn Deuce was born, engineered, and developed by ASC," says Jim Inglese, one of the principals of Hot Rods & Horsepower (HR&H), a Branford, CT, maker of all-steel 1932 Ford hot rods. ASC oversees all of the tooling and stamping, acquisition of outside vendors, and the build of the convertible body. This is vastly different than the process followed in the design and development of HR&H's '32 Coupe, wherein Inglese and company oversaw each step in the process. "When we got into this with the 3-window Coupe," he says, "we were stupid. Would I do it that way again? Never in a million years."

Rev. Hot Rod has a regular name, that being Michael Oginsky of Warren.
And he's got a regular job, too, that being a guy who helps detail concept cars for General Motors Corp.

But when he's behind the wheel of his sleek '67 Camaro (nicknamed Faster for the Master) or delivering the opening prayer at various drag races and car shows, Oginsky, 56, feels like he's doing what he was meant to do.
Rev. Hot Rod, a chaplain for a nationwide car club called Racers for Christ, says he finds the mix of hot cars and hot faith simply riveting."

Heavy metal: sculpture combines love of couple's classic cars and horses

"A new breed of horse, “The Chrome Commander,” trotted through Tucumcari this week.

The shiny horse — sculpted from more than 100 classic car bumpers — is owned by Vaughn and Chryse Veit of Monticello, Minn. Weighing in at more than a ton and standing at 12 feet, the sculpture attracted motorists along Route 66, who stopped and took photos as it was parked in front of the Blue Swallow Inn.

The Veits stayed at the Blue Swallow on their way to California.

The horse was commissioned to symbolize the collaboration of their two passions with Vaughn Veit’s love of classic cars and Chryse Viet's love of the American Saddlebred horse.

The couple have been respectful of each other's preference for horsepower.

For example, Chryse Veit said, at the couple's wedding that Vaughn Veit drove up in a yellow 1933 Ford Cabriolet and she rode up on a horse, named Creative Spirit's Lottery Ticket, raised by her family.

“If you look closely at The Chrome Commander’s tail you can see one from a '55 Chevy,” said Chryse Veit. “He’s one of a kind, something that can never be duplicated. We named him The Chrome Commander after the one of the most famous American Saddlebreds of all time, Wing Commander.” "

CATAWISSA -- Awakened by crackling sounds and a glow through his bedroom window, Lanny Fetterman feared for his garage.
'My first thought was, 'All my toys are in there,'' the Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech teacher said. When he raced outside early Monday it was too late to save the cars, including a 1967 Pontiac Firebird his Vo-Tech students spent more than 1 1/2 years restoring.
'It was gorgeous, and now it's just a pile of smoldering rubble,' said Fetterman, 55, who had bought the car in 1972. Also consumed were a 1992 Corvette, a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, and a 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible, said Fetterman, who was trying to find out whether his insurance covered fire damage. A state police fire marshal was investigating the blaze.
'At least no one was hurt and my house is still here,' Fetterman said. '(But) losing the Firebird is just like losing an old friend.'"
