2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition
Chevrolet unveiled a high-performance vehicle most sports car enthusiasts would go crazy for. GM presented the most powerful Camaro ever build. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 makes its official debut at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. The ZL1 brings the Camaro line to greater heights with higher performance charged by V-8 engine generating approximately 550 horsepower.
The 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition is powered by LSA 6.2L supercharged engine with maximum output of 550 horsepower (410 kW) and 550 lb.-ft. of torque (677 Nm). Engine is combined with six-speed manual transmission with a dual-disc clutch system. Not only that, this fast baby is equipped with highly improved chassis and suspension systems for maximum sports car performance.

The central goal of the 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition’s development was creating something new –a Camaro intended to reach optimal lap times on top road-racing circuits and excellent driving dynamics on the street. To achieve that goal, engineers evolved many of the existing Camaro’s systems, as well as incorporated new technologies such as electric power steering and Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension system.

Camaro ZL1 is about high-tech performance and design, and is a type of car no one has ever brought to this segment previously,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “It’s the most technically advanced Camaro ever, so we’ve chosen a name from the most elite and exclusive Camaro in history.”
The 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition name is derived from the all-aluminum racing engine of the same name, which was developed in the late 1960s and installed into a handful of regular-production 1969 Camaros. Only 69 were built with the engine, but they’ve achieved mythical status among enthusiasts, as they represented the pinnacle in Camaro performance – until now. The 2012 ZL1 model is designed to be a major leap forward for the Camaro Chevrolet Sports Cars, bringing anew level of performance capability to the segment.

Camaro sales began in April 2009. On January 17, 2009, the first production fifth-generation Camaro was auctioned at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction. The winning bidder paid US$350,000 with all proceeds going to the American Heart Association.

By late June 2009, Chevrolet dealers were reporting that Camaro sales were exceeding availability, with prices running about US$5,000 above the MSRP. It was suggested that this may be influenced by the prominent presence of the vehicle in the Transformers movie sequel that was released worldwide through the month.

General Motors sold 61,648 Camaros in the 2009 calendar year. Sales of the Camaro did not start until April 2009.

Tuning kit for the Chevrolet Camaro from the Fessler-Moss

When it comes to Chevrolet Camaro, then the memory comes to a lot of big and not very tuning-studio, ready to take up the finalization of this powerful muscle car. However, there is one company mechanics, which is much stronger than its competitors - an alliance of Faessler, Chris (Chris Fessler) and Jon Moss (Jon Moss). They currently offer three different tuning kit for the beloved in the United States Camaro.

The first, in our opinion the most interesting, complete, which is called the Fessler-Moss 2010 Camaro Enhancement Package, and its value together with the car is $ 55 000 or U.S. $ 15 000 if you wish to purchase it separately. The set consists of adjustable suspension, high-efficiency air filter kit 22-inch wheels, the holders of carbon fiber and components for the tinting the taillights. Add to this a new turbocharger, an improved exhaust system and a specially tuned braking system and you get this "devourer" of the American Highway.

Chevrolet Camaro from the Transformers will be serialized

Chevrolet dealers Company announced its intention to market a special modified coupe Camaro, which was called Bumblebee, and will be built in honor of the same character from the movie Transformers. As the site Camaro5, orders for this car in the United States will take from 1 June this year, but production cars will run from June to December.

It was expected that model Chevrolet Camaro, as well as a car from the movie, will be painted in yellow, black will be "racing" stripes going through the entire body, and shildiki under the "Transformers", to appear on the rims, thresholds and central console . Would coupe styling kit with a new bonnet and front bumper, designed in the style of "kinoshnogo" Bumblebee, have not yet been reported.

New product will be offered in two versions - LT and SS - with a 304-strong V6 and the 426-strong V8, respectively. In the U.S., the price of an ordinary Camaro start from 23 thousand 40 dollars, but how many will have to pay extra for a special version of the car, at the moment it is not known.
